If you’re in Denver, come to the book release party for Adios Cabron.
The world is crazy. The world is always crazy. One way we can hold that craziness at bay, is being in community with each other. It is a balm, and it’s not easy to find or create.
I worked on a maintenance crew as a teen. My boss was an old boxer from Cuba. His wisdom and intelligence was communicated through a thick veil of Spanglish combined with a serious case of CTE. We didn’t know any better back then, we used to call it punchy.
If he said, “Take the thing, and do the thing, in the thing.”, you had to follow his curled, weathered, fingers pointing at the broom in the corner, an then to the top of the stairs. You knew he wanted you to sweep the stairs.
If you paid attention, he was often a source of great wisdom. He was where I first heard the phrase, “Many hands make light work.” For me, this is both the reward, and the reason for building community.
So come hangout and listen to me read from Adios Cabron at The Process on Thursday, April 23. See old friends, meet new friends. Let’s do the thing, at the thing…
